Would it be better for me to stay on a Sport only membership rather than the new Squash Public membership?

This entirely depends on what you would like to use SSP for squash wise.

The Sport only membership will allow you to just book courts only and nothing further.

You will NOT have access to the following on a Sport only membership:

Tuesday club night coached session
Sunday mix-in club night
Internal Box Leagues
Team match play eligibly
NEW Saturday morning HIIT sessions
Exclusive members email database
Affiliation with England Squash for insurance purposes

Does a full SSP membership still allow me to play and access the squash club?

Not anymore. The new Squash Public membership needs to be a bolt-on purchase to any other membership you may have at SSP.

This is where there has been the biggest change in the structure and now all Squash membership money will be directly reflected to the programme itself.

To help with this, we are offering the Squash Public membership bolt-on at 50% discount for current members until 1st August 2021. This means you will only pay £19/month for this period – in addition to whatever other membership package you are on.

After the three-month discount period you will be converted to £38/month direct debit in addition to whatever any other membership package.

I have paid for an annual squash membership, what happens here?

Firstly, please do alertus by emailing squash@surreysportspark.co.uk so we can make a note and track this.

Secondly, we will honour any member who has paid for an annual deal. We will make a note of the date when this expires, and will make contact with you approximately one month before to discuss the next steps.

How do I get onto the new Squash Public membership?

The new Squash public membership is £38/month or £380/year.

If you have no membership status at SSP, then the best and easiest way is to purchase this membership via our online platform HERE.

If you have a Sport only membership and would like to be converted, then please copy and paste the below sentence into an email and send to memberships@surreysportspark.co.uk. Please make sure you insert your name and when you would like to switch memberships. We will then manually change it over on our system.

“I, xx, confirm that I would like to convert my membership from Sport to Squash Public, [with immediate effect] / [as of insert date] and wish to pay for this by monthly direct debit OR annual payment (please delete your non-preferred option)”

If you have any other type of membership and need some clarification, please get in touch with us directly on squash@surreysportspark.co.uk and this will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

Why are the Tuesday and Sunday Club Night sessions not running at present?

Under the England Squash guidelines adult group sessions need to be aligned with what we can safely run.

As of writing we are NOT permitted to run adult group coaching sessions.

The plan is to get our sessions bookable and running immediately after the 21^st June 2021 if the government roadmap is reached. We are ready for this as soon as we are allowed.

Will the ladies Saturday morning team training and Veterans team match training start again?

Yes, they will but when we are safely allowed to do so.

We are aiming and hoping that from 21^st June 2021 the full program will be up and running as per normal and we are working towards this date.

We will communicate about any updates when we get them, and when members are allowed to book onto sessions.

How do I get involved with the new Internal Box Leagues?

We are running the leagues on a brand-new platform called Leagalise which has been created by one of our members, Alan Gordon, with a lot of discussion with me around some of the key features that were lacking in previous models. The leagues will also be linked directly with SquashLevels which is an exciting step and I’ll give more info on this as we grow.

As soon as you have your new Squash Public membership, please drop Jesse an email and he will walk you through the process. It’s really easy and the new system is clean to navigate and use.

What if I am NOT one of the first 50 people to sign up to the new membership deal?

No problem. You will be able to access ALL of the member benefits but would have missed out on the free 20-min private lesson.

How do I claim the free coaching offer?

You will be contacted by Jesse who will let you know the dates and times available to make a booking.

What if I am not ready to return yet?

No problem. We can keep you suspended or on the Sport only membership until you are ready to return to Squash.

Why has the membership cost increased from £36 to £38 per month?

When we first opened over 10-years ago this was the price for squash membership. We believe increasing the cost by £2 per month is reflective of the quality of the programme we offer and have grown over the years as well as for normal inflation. We offer a bigger discount now more than ever for a one-year membership whereby you can save £76/year if you opt for this one, which works out to only £32/month. We believe this is a very competitive price for our region and in comparison to what other clubs offer.
