Making Sport Accessible for All

Making Sport Accessible for All

At Surrey Sports Park, we believe sport and physical activity should be accessible to everyone. This spring and summer, we are proud to be delivering a series of free, inclusive multi‑sport days for children and adults with physical and learning disabilities across Surrey.

As part of the SportsAbility Series, we are welcoming disabled communities into a supportive environment where confidence, enjoyment and connection are at the heart of every activity.

Designed Around the Participant

The SportsAbility Series has been co‑designed with specialist schools and local disability organisations to ensure activities are genuinely accessible and tailored to individual needs. By working closely with our partners, we are removing barriers to participation and creating positive sporting experiences for everyone involved.

This year’s programme includes a dedicated Schools Day for pupils from specialist schools, followed by a Community Day supporting adults through local disability charities. Participants are supported throughout by our teams, partners and volunteers.

Opening Our Facilities to the Community

Participants will have access to Surrey Sports Park's £36 million, Olympic‑standard facilities, giving them the opportunity to enjoy high‑quality sporting experiences that might otherwise be difficult to access. Alongside physical benefits, the programme aims to improve wellbeing, build social connections and boost confidence through sport.

Working Together for Greater Impact

The SportsAbility Series is delivered in partnership with Penningtons Manches Cooper, whose staff are volunteering alongside our teams, and Active Surrey, whose expertise helps us reach under‑represented groups across the county.

SportsAbility forms part of Surrey Sports Park’s wider commitment to deliver more than £1 million in social value to the Surrey community by 2028, ensuring our facilities and programmes remain inclusive, welcoming and accessible for all.
