How does Swim Academy work?
Following Swim England’s Learn to Swim programme, children can start lessons from 18 months old in our Parent & Child classes.
From there they will progress to our Pre-School lessons aimed at children aged 3-4 years old. The next step up brings children into our After-School lessons where, starting at Stage 1a, children from the age of 4 have the opportunity to progress right through to Stage 10 and follow the pathway into competitive swimming with Guildford City Swimming Club.
Teachers will track your child’s progress using tablets which is then updated to Home Portal at the end of each day.
-
How do the swim assessments work?
In the assessment a teacher will spend 5-10 minutes with your child, matching them to the correct class for their swimming ability.
Once the assessment is complete, we will sit down with you to confirm which class times and days we have available.
